Emily Saladino who covers Central and Eastern Europe for the Wine Enthusiast has awarded the 2023 assemblage of K’AVSHIRI - our second release - 90 Points.
This is our first rating by a US critic and hopefully a sign of things to come.
At a tasting of 48 Georgian qvevri and non-qvevri wines that was organised in Mainz by the German trade publication Wine + Markt, the 2022 White Assemblage - our first release - was given the highest score in the event: 93.5.
We were delighted to have all three K’AVSHIRI assemblages tasted by Richard Hemming MW of JancisRobinson.com. Mr Hemming who also runs the 67 Pall Mall club in Singapore is a highly respected taster in the UK and Asia. His scores were very gratifying - especially the 16.5+ for the Red, which is a very high rating for JancisRobinson.com (Jancis herself gave just one point more - 17.5+ - to the €/$2,600 Penfolds/Jaboulet Ainé La Chapelle Grange 2021 mentioned by Richard here.)
We were similarly pleased to get a 90 point score and inclusion in Liz Gabay MW’s selection of 20 Best Rosés from Outside Provence. Ms Gabay is internationally acknowledged as the world’s leading authority on rosé wines, and author of Rosé Understanding the Pink Revolution
And… the Red Assemblage just won a Gold medal at the Shanghai International Wine Challenge.
